There are a lot of people who play games but just won’t allow anyone to designate them as “gamers.” And they’ll throw scorn on people who do identify themselves as such, even though those same people will spend far more hours sitting in front of the television, and/or watching sports on television, yet look down on someone who prefers the interactive medium of computer games.

I get a double whammy out of this whole thing because not only do I play games, but I was part of the early cadre of game designers, so when I tell people that, they look at me even worse than they look at people who just play games.
