The model of OnlyFans only benefits a select few women and in ways that someone on the outside doesn't realize until it's too late. A young woman will sign up, start posting pornography on the site and then get practically peanuts for her efforts, but now her material will be out there in the ether, and almost always that one person who subscribed has managed to record it and leak it out to the rest of the world for free, so the value of that person is immediately diminished, and to make it worse, her reputation is tainted forever (NEVER going away).
Then, the second part of the dilemma begins to show its face. You see, just posting your content doesn't get traffic and customers. OnlyFans isn't designed to do that. So, the girl has to generate her own buzz, her own marketing and her own attention ELSEWHERE from OnlyFans in order to get people to come back to the platform and possibly subscribe.
This is why the platform mostly benefits already established porn stars or women with somewhat of a celebrity following already. It's why a TON of female ASMR artists go from trying to make money on Youtube, realizing Youtube sucks as a payment vehicle and then uses that following they gained there to push people to newly generated OnlyFans sites, quite often making bank there but ONLY because they did months and months of fan base creating through Youtube and Twitch streaming.
OnlyFans is a horrible vehicle for a young woman trying to make her way because it represents that she has zero skills other than the next level of Instagram fame (vying for clicks and likes as some kind of childish validation that she's ever going to achieve even if she's the most popular girl on the Internet. Even Kardashians act like they're miserable all the time, which should definitely tell you something because you're never even going to approach that level of fame without actual skill in something else to back it up.
But you do you.
