I honestly don't give a second thought to a person having specific standards. I'm not 6 feet tall, so there are women who will NEVER want to be with me. I'll live with it. At the same time, there are women who I will never choose because they don't meet basic standards I have. What they are happens to be important to only me. What I do know is that the more standards you put in your path, the harder it will be to find someone of substance, so my standards aren't absurd. But you can't change the way other people think, so why let it bother one?
